St Mary's University College was established in 1850 and is situated on a beautiful historic campus in the affluent London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
St Mary's is a popular study destination for students specialising in Business; Education; Humanities; Media; Sports Science and Theatre subject areas. Our Tourism department was ranked best in London in the Guardian 2010 University Guide, with our Sports Science department in 2nd place. Undergraduates can enjoy an unparalleled level of flexibility in selecting their programmes of study, with many Joint Honours options available.
Those specialising in Business Studies subject, for example, can choose to combine their course of study with Education; English Literature; History; Media; Nutrition; Psychology; Sports Science; Tourism and other subject areas. For those wishing to study at postgraduate level, St Mary's offers a wide-range of unique MA and MSc programmes in Applied Linguisitics & English Language Teaching, Bioethics, Education Sports Science (and Sports Journalism) and Theatre Studies to name just a few. St Mary's also awards an MBA in International Business Practice run jointly with the Mountbattern Institute, which includes a paid internship as an essential part of the programme. St Mary's offers generous scholarships to international students in all subject areas (both undergraduate and postgraduate) who demonstrate high academic potential.
The learning facilities at St Mary's are excellent and the campus boasts sports facilities so extensive that we have been selected as a Pre Games Training Camp for the 2012 Olympics, hosting the South African Olympic team on campus in the weeks leading up to the London 2012 Games. These include a synthetic floodlit track, two sports halls, a gymnasium, a dance studio, 20 acres of playing fields and an all weather pitch. A new start of the art multi-sport hall and strength and conditioning suite is also due to open in 2011.
St Mary's is proud of its high graduate employment rate (ranked 7th in the UK in the 2009 Times Online top for Jobs Survey) and the fact that 97% of its graduates either find work or pursue further studies within six months of graduating. The St Mary's Careers Service is part of the University of London Careers Group (the largest careers service in the country) and provides excellent support to both home and international students seeking work in the UK and elsewhere. St Mary's graduates can be found working for some of the world's most internationally-renowned companies such as BBC, Honda, British Airways, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and The Independent.
